Miami Ink
What a great show. I love tattoos, but honestly you don't need to even like tattoos to enjoy this show. This show goes beyond tattoos and shows what drives some people to even get tattoos.
Besides the stories that are told in the show, the work these 4 guys do is amazing! My favorite is Ami James, his work is the best I think I've ever seen. Chris Garver is a close second in my mind.
A lot of people see tattoos as gross or dirty and almost look down upon people for having tattoos. Although these days are changing it still happens. The way I look at it is if you don't like them, don't get them. You should never judge a book by its cover. This show has even shown some really high up business men/women having full body tattoos. You would never have guessed it.
Anyway I just thought about this show because it is on tonight at 10PM EST on TLC. If you are interested in the show check out the links below.

I love this show as well but after reading the web site I wonder if that's all it is..just a show? Once the show is done filming, is the shop closed? They were brought together to do the show according to articles online. I am just wondering if Miami Ink is a real tat shop.
You probably know this, as you have their individual links on your blog, but Chris Garver is from the Pittsburgh Area. He has done a lot of work on my friends and some work on my fiance years ago. He's known Chris Garver since he was tattooing out of his bedroom in his mom's house!
He's apparently noted to be one of the world's best and I'd love him to do some work on me, but it's a long drive to South Beach from Pittsburgh. Maybe some time in the near future... Love the show too and it was an accident! I just tuned in one night and watched and now I'm hooked. It's put together well. From Allegheny County, PA to Northampton, nice blog, man.
Great show. From the information shared not only in the parlor but their home lives and their fab work. They are true artists.
i was wondering if anybody had a picture of the tiger 3/4 sleeve tattoo that was colored in on the show. I've decided to get a similar tattoo and would like to have a reference if possible.
The show is a hit no doubt and the guys are hot too!!!!! I feel so proud to be a girl/woman when I see the kind of work Kat does. You are great Kat and I realy respect you allot because I am not artistic in that kind of way and I believe you are an inspiration!!! Guys I think you have everything the audience wants!!!! And you're "HOT".
I too am intersted in the 3/4 sleeve tatoo colored in by Chris. Does anyone know where to get the flash?
We made appointments for tats back in October with Ami and Nunez. They set an appointment for March. End of December we got a letter cancelling out appointments due to filming (after we purchased plane tickets). In Feb. we got two messages from "Miami Ink Casting", and they never returned our calls. We went there anyway last week. The show is exactly a "SHOW". They had wall to wall people waiting to get little flash tats by two unknown artists (not even Yoshi was working – probably appearing on a publicity tour). You had to tell the receptionist what tat you wanted and where before you were even put on the list. There was not consultation with the artist. The waiting list was only three hours. They were going to Tat TWENTY PEOPLE IN THREE HOURS! This is not the artistic integrity the show portrays. Needless to say we walked out. Even the street outside is blocked - on the show there is never anyone walking by and the guys can always park right out front. This street is PACKED! They obviously block for the show. ONCE AGAIN TELEVISION IS HANDING US A BUNCH OF CRAP TITLED REALITY!!
Did anyone find a picture of the Tiger Tattoo that Chris did on the show Tuesday.
taylort, I feel your pain. But unfortunately that is the reality of TV. It does suck that you guys purchased plane tickets, they should have at least did something for you. Did you write the show and explain what happened.
Recently took a quick run down to Miami(150 miles from home) only to be told by Yoshi that these guys only work on filming. Everyone in the shop would be getting work done by people other than these "STARS".
They do not take appointments and was told Kat was only there for filming.
They did have a shop full of customers though.
I was heading out on a Carnival Cruise, so it was no big deal to find this out
I have lived in S. Fla for like 6 years and have been to the shop almost when season one was just out and chris, ami, nunez were all there working with no cameras. They were very cool, but you people have to realize living in south beach is tough when you are out visiting us people that live here are out working or trying to pick up hoes that are here visiting. Bottom line if you didnt have to work any more unless under contract at limited times scheduled by you would you or would you spend the time with your families or chasing hoes.
This show is completely deceiving. To me, real artists don't need to have a casting call to get a tattoo. Part of the casting procedure is to submit a photo of yourself. What does it matter what you look like? Honestly, this is just a ploy and I have no respect for these people. If they wanted to be taken seriously they would do tattoos for everyone without thinking twice. For my tattoos, I needed to describe what I wanted and that was it. They also look just as good if not better than anything they would do. It's a little pathetic that reality TV has turned these artists into complete jerks and all that they care about now is that pretty penny they get to charge their clients for being on the show.
They want to know what you look like BECAUSE its TV dumb ass... do you want to watch a bunch of really fat or unattractive people without clothes on getting shit tattoo'd, i sure as hell dont... and if you do i am sure there is some weird web shit for it, but the reality is, its a TV show and all tv shows are cast because you cant have crazys' on your show it make for too much work post production... you dont want to have to edit that much because the people getting tattooed are nuts or obseen...
i think everyone in that shop is so damn talented. i love the show and would love to get a great tattoo by one of them.
there are many fat ugly people being tattooed on that show. ive seen it.
Well having read what you have all said about the shop and tatooists, i do feel quite disappointed! I am due to arrive in the USA in sept 07 for my two week vacation and was hoping to get an appointment there for my first ever tat at 37 y.o.a! Would of loved to get Koi on my arm and then have all of M.I to sign their autographs around it!!
Disappointed Andy from the U.K
Someday I have to get to the shop, even just to shoot a picture. I just found out they have a bar called Love Hate Lounge that would be REALLY cool to visit and hopefully you won't need to submit a picture to get a beer.
thinking of heading to miami for a holiday and hoping to get tattooed while there. as it is impossible to get on miami imk can anyone recommend artists there who would be as good? coming from ireland so would appreciate any advice
hi, i was watching an episode of miami ink where ami did a tattoo that i really liked. I was wondering if there is a gallery that shows all the tattoos that were done on the show

I was down there in july, I met Ami as well as he was there at the shop everytime I walked past it. Yea, I totally creeped it out. He was totally cool and down to earth, and nice to everyone who came up and talked to him. I suppose its just the luck of the draw....either you see them or you don't. I also went to their love hate lounge...it's not all what it's cracked up to be. All cracked out girls making out with each other. Really not that fun, however, that's my take/opinion on it.
just reading comments and have to say as a huge fan of the show am really dissapointed to learn the ins and outs of casting, only being there at filming etc!i realise it is set up for tv but would have thought that as tattooing is there field it wouldnt really matter if there were camera crews there or not..when not filming and promoting do they not tattoo then either? oh well life is always full of dissapointments no?!!
Wooowww its great show man...i like this show..I love tattoos, but honestly you don't need to even like tattoos to enjoy this show. Art is something that is really completely out of the ordinary for me.. It is the flame that puts out the shame and heartache that my day went through. It is a beautiful thing. Yet at the same time it can mind boggle a soul into thinking something completely different. What I love bout art, is that you envision your own meaning behind the creativity of the art itself. Your imagination can take you many places and only in your imagination can you be in two happy places at once :)

Why was there no follow on bankruptcy then? The bailout of AIG FP went to (wow power leveling) hedge funds that bound credit swaps on Lehman failing or others betting on rating (wow power leveling) declines. AIG has drained over 100 billion from the government. Which had to go to those who bet on failures and downgrades. Many of whom (power leveling)were hedge funds. I-banks that had offsetting swaps needed the money from the AIG bailout or they would have been caught. Its an (wow powerleveling) insiders game and it takes just a little bit too much time for most people to think (wow gold) through where the AIG 100 billion bailout money went to, hedge funds and players, many of whom hire from the top ranks of DOJ, Fed, Treasury, CAOBO
